Tartaric Acid


Tartaric Acid -

Is made from crude tartar or ARGOL (which see). It is used in the manufacture of baking powder, effervescent beverages, etc., and as a substitute for citric acid and lemon juice in the preparation of cooling drinks and saline draughts. Industrially, it is employed in large quantities in calico printing, etc.
